4 Fees, Expenses, and Other Remuneration

How I Am Remunerated

My remuneration comes from the following sources:

Lender Commission

When you obtain a loan through my services, I receive commission payments from the lending institution. These commissions are paid by the lender, not by you as the client.

Typical Commission Structure:

  • Upfront Commission: Typically 0.50% - 0.85% of the loan amount
  • Trail Commission: Ongoing payments of approximately 0.10% - 0.15% per annum while the loan remains active

Insurance Commission

For insurance products arranged through my services, I receive commission from insurance providers. These commissions do not increase the cost of your insurance premium.

Typical Commission Structure:

  • Initial Commission: Typically 100% - 200% of the first year's premium
  • Renewal Commission: Ongoing payments of approximately 5% - 20% of annual premiums

Client Fees (If Applicable)

In some circumstances, I may charge a direct fee for services provided. This will be discussed and agreed upon with you before any work commences.

Examples include: Complex commercial loans, specialist advice requiring extensive research, or situations where lender commission is not applicable.

Important: Full disclosure of all fees and commissions will be provided to you in writing before you proceed with any financial product or service.

You have the right to request detailed information about the exact commission I will receive for any specific product recommendation.

5 Conflicts of Interest and Related Party Arrangements

I am committed to acting in your best interests at all times. Below, I disclose any potential conflicts of interest or related party arrangements that may affect the advice I provide:

Lender Panel Relationships

I work with a panel of approved lenders and insurance providers. While I have commission arrangements with these institutions, I am not obligated to recommend any particular provider.

My Commitment: I will recommend products based on your needs and circumstances, not on the commission I receive.

Business Ownership

I am a director and shareholder of Life Protector Limited. All commissions and fees paid for services provided through Life Protector Limited contribute to the company's revenue, from which I derive my income.

Incentives and Benefits

From time to time, I may receive non-monetary benefits from lenders and insurance providers, such as:

  • Training and professional development opportunities
  • Conference attendance and industry event invitations
  • Marketing materials and technology tools
  • Performance-based incentive programs (subject to disclosure)

These benefits are typically valued at less than $300 per provider per year and do not influence my recommendations.

Referral Arrangements

I may receive or pay referral fees to/from other professionals (such as real estate agents, accountants, or solicitors) when client referrals are made. Any such arrangements will be disclosed to you at the time.

Managing Conflicts of Interest

When a conflict of interest exists or could potentially exist, I will:

  • Disclose it to you clearly and in writing
  • Prioritize your interests above my own
  • Provide you with objective advice regardless of commission differences
  • Obtain your informed consent before proceeding
